This is my story …

I have at most part been health consious and concerned with the food I eat.  My mom was a firm believer in cooking our meals at home and we didn’t eat out very often.  Don’t get me wrong, we were never ever deprived.  We had Friday night pizza, burgers and fries and cheesy pasta, just as all kids did, but the difference was, my mom made these dishes herself.

As I grew up, I would spend a lot of time in the kitchen with my mom and grandma, learning.  Whisking up a roux for a homemade Bechamel sauce, learning how to prepare pizza sauce and how to bake a batch of homemade biscuits.  I loved cooking my own food and learning what nutritious ingredients did for your health.

Then I became a mom and the roles had turned.  It was my job to be responsible for feeding my family wholesome meals.  Questions like: What was wholesome anymore?  What was ok to feed the kids, what should I avoid?  Everything was so unhealthy, do I want me kids to eat that stuff?

My job as mom; certification in children’s nutrition and love of cooking has brought me right here.  Making simple meals out of real foods and enjoying them. Whole foods that not only make the kids happy to eat them, because they taste good, but also feeding their body with nutrients they need to thrive.
